Character Redesigns

Hey,

We kind of crapped out on this blog there... I was bored and did some redesigns of a couple of characters.  I was thinking that maybe the three of us can do redesigns of any character we want, just so we can put something up here.  Not on a weekly basis or anything.....

Anyway,

Here are my Wolverine redesigns

The second one is brown and orange and the first one is black and orange.  I prefer the second one.  Just a kind of cross between his modern costume and the one from X-Men Evolution.

I also did redesigns of Icon from the late great Milestone Comics (now owned by DC who aren't doing anything with him...which is a fucking shame).  I did three different color schemes and I like two of them but the third I am not found of...even though it was the first idea I thought of.

I prefer the first two and not the third (although the third was the first idea).  I gave him a kind of "I" emblem on his chest.  The second one is the original color scheme that the characters original costume had.  I think it is my favorite and I really didn't think it would be because it looks so Christmasy but it seems good.

sketch from one of my favorite cancelled cartoon shows

pirates of dark water. i loved that show. i saw it again a couple of years ago and it was still kind of good but it was really poorly animated (which was not how i remembered it). so anyways a pen sketch of the getokkin monkeybird and ren from pirates of dark water (if i misspelled or am incorrect on the character names sorry i am just using my failing memory)

my comic that needs a cartoon

i had a hard time picking one comic to do. so i am posting my three favorite which were a howard the duck cartoon where he is a private detective with man-thing, a cartoon about how doctor strange learns to become the master of the mystic arts and a cartoon about quasar because only i would watch it. i am sorry i am late with these i lost my internet access and have been trying to get a job. i think three drawings for this topic and the fact that my topic for july will be posted shortly should make up for it a little. best

The Goon

I seem to be a day late on these... hopefully that won't my "thing"...

Anyway, how cool would a Goon cartoon be?  I remember the cg animated trailer they had a couple years ago, but I don't know what became of that.  I think a 2d version would be pretty cool, I dunno...

hey hey i too am late with mine but it took me a little longer to get my (crappy and as hurried as they are) colors on to sort of show the muted palette i would choose for the show. ps. i would totally have preferred a lando or han and chewie cartoon rather than the whole cast but i went whole cast anyway. man i would watch the other cartoons... not sure about my own.

here is wesley's sketch for our second month's concept (this should be june but willis and i are both a little behind). the second month's concept is a comic book character that we feel deserves a cartoon show. wesley chose DC comics Adam Strange. he wanted to note that the cartoon should have been done in the horrible hanna-barbera cartoon mold -ie space ghost, harvey birdman, the jetsons. he also thought the show would work in the adult swim mode of taking those hanna-barbera cartoons and making them humourous ala sealab 2020 or harvey birdman attorney at law.
